Harabek is the persona of Michael Johnson,  adopted from the game Starsiege in 1999. He failed to notice he had misspelled his name after setting it as an email account but decided to continue to ignore the mistake. The name has followed him for over a decade.

Michael served in the United States Air Force until 2005 and began filming machinima short videos in the winter of 2007 with Tristen Maxwell.  After gaining a small following, Michael eventually was able to aquire a Canon 7D with the help of a mysterious producer named Gigavux. He currently uses his 7D with a R0DE NTG-2 microphone.  Edits with Sony Vegas Pro 9, After Effects, and Video Co-Pilot extensions. All his ambient music is purchased from Audio Network Plc or used with permission from local artists such as Swear by This and Tyler Callihan.
